Welcome Cambridge
Waynco' s Open House
On September 21st, 2006 our Waynco Sand and Gravel operation hosted an open house for the Cambridge community. The weather cooperated and the sun came out in time for the start of the event.
We were very pleased to see the large number of neighbours, employees, and their families that came out for a tour of the pit properties and to learn a bit more about one of the most important building materials that we use today.
We were particularly pleased to see several members from the local municipal government including a former mayor, several City councilors and staff . It was great to see them take an interest in local businesses like ours, and it gave Plant Manager Mic McDonald a chance to show off his operation.
The open house included bus tours of the active pit and the rehabilitated areas. There was also a display of pit equipment, and an excellent buffet that was catered by the chef from Savannah Golf Links. Sand castle making and rock painting kept the kids busy. The mini-hardhats that were given to the children were a big hit.
Congratulations to Mic McDonald and the rest of the plant employees for putting on such a great event!
