Nelson's Earth Day Activity
TWO TONNES OF FUN
Well, 2.45 tonnes to be exact. Nelson Aggregate Co. sponsored it’s first ever Community Clean Up on Saturday, April 21, where employees, along with their families and friends, joined together to collect 2,450 kg of garbage from the ditches and shoulders of Number 2 Sideroad, Mt. Nemo Cr. and Colling Road.
The Nelson Team was comprised of 41 hard working individuals ranging in ages of 2 to, well, let’s say 50+.
Special "Thank You" goes out our three neighbours that joined in and allowed us to join them. Mr. and Mrs. “B” who helped a group of teens along Number 2, and Janet who helped out on Number 2, east of the Guelph Line.
Out of the total number of participants, 17 were school aged. We can only hope that they take a sense of ownership of the environment from this event, and make every day, “Earth Day.”
